Think about the Golden Moon in Philadelphia. Then imagine what the Golden Moon's retarded cousin would look like, and you have a pretty good mental picture of Greenetrack.

Great analogy. And the Silver Star is the trashy cousin that smokes too many cigarettes! I personally love the Golden Moon!

A few of my closest friends know this story: I went to Greenetrack when I turned 18 years old. My parents had always gone with other couples as I was growing up & I wanted to go when I became legal. My Dad took me on March 13th, 1985 (my senior year in HS) & the reason the date sticks out is that I won the Twin Trifecta in the 10th race. I had lost money in all races up to that point about $75. The Twin Trifecta is a two-part race. I won the first part & it paid me around $85. Instantly, I'm back on the plus side. I received an exchange ticket (free ticket since I had won the first part) for the second part of the race & won $12,994. It was totally beginner's luck! Those dogs crossed the finish line in the order I had picked them. The executives at Greenetrack treated me & my Dad like we were somebody. I got a instant W-2 form after Uncle Sam took his cut, they printed me a huge ledger check for $9,596.00, & took our picture. It was quite a memorable afternoon. We laughed all the way back to Linden & to the bank. I haven't been back since. However, I don't think Greenetrack races dogs anymore.

Here's to it and here's to it again...if you get to it and don't do it...may you never get to it again!
Without the dogs Greenetrack blows. It's just a bunch of "bingo" slot machines now.

Greentrack's legitimacy inadvertently got a boost the other day from a judge in Birmingham.
I don't know how much you guys in Demopolis keep up with Birmingham, but if you hadn't heard, the JeffCo Sheriff confiscated all of the "bingo" machines at Victoryland - saying that they were gaming devices. The other day, a JeffCo judge ruled that the machines actually fit very neatly into a loophole in Alabama law.

Oh how we danced away all of the lights we've always been out of our minds
