Does anyone know why the catfish plant in Demopolis closed?

I heard from someone I work with that they are remodeling the inside...I don't know how true that is...it's just what I heard.

NBC 13 reported this morning that the plant was closed down due to the market being bad.

Southern Pride employed about 270 workers. The plant says that it does plan to re-open "as soon as the market improves"........ whenever that may be

I've been hearing also that the Foster Farms is supposed to shut down "for a couple of weeks".

I think at Foster Farms, they are shutting down to put in a new machine, which will increase production. Not because of economic difficulties.

Well, I hope neither is shut down for long. The people in Demopolis and Marengo County need jobs.
