The rumors have circulated about the Demopolis Firestation moving to the West Alabama building downtown. I've recently learned this is correct. The building is currently in bankruptcy, and once the bank settles on a price the firestation will move in. Also, the current police station will be moving to the same building due to the poor state of the current location. The courtroom will stay at the current location.
Other interesting tidbits:
The proposal by Austin Caldwell to move the firestation to the Rosenbush Building was considered a bad idea by those in the Fire Dept.
It's been stated that Freddy Armstead may be pushing to have E911 moved to Linden. Armstead originally was at the front of the move to put it in it's current location, but may have since changed his mind.
