I have a PS2 that will not read any disks. I have cleaned the lens, but still no dice. When it is "cold" it will play a game for about 10 minutesm then stop reading the disk. Can it be fixed, or do I need to trash it and buy a new one? Any help or suggestions welcomed.

i'm having the same problem but after about 10 time of putting the disk in it will work .

About a year ago, mine did the same thing. I called the tech support number in the manual, they walked me through resetting it, and when that didn't work they told me to send it back to them. Bear in mind this was at least 2 years after I bought it. They emailed me a week after I sent it to say that they couldn't fix it, and sent me a new PS2, and even paid the postage! So give it a try before you trash it.

sony will help provided you havent opened the unit give them a call and they will swap with you for $45 I have done it several times with no hassles each time the new (refurb) unit was back to me with-in 2 weeks

Sounds like it's overheating. Best to swap it out if possible.

they only want to swap ... it cost $70 just to look at one that is out of warrenty then parts and labor

I love my jetpack in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It's hard for cops to catch you even in a helicopter when you're floating around like a angel of death...

You know when GTA & vice city & san andreas all came out, there was news protest on how the games are too violent about how they are bad, especially for the reason of killing police and military authorities. They're at it again! There's a new game coming out called 25 to Life that have the news stations talking again. They want the game pulled from the shelves / banned from the US.

Don't they know you can always buy the game on ebay???
