The Demopolis Public Library has one, I 'm almost sure! If not, let me know and I'll see if I can point you in another direction.

Welcome aboard!

Winston's estate, which I believe is handled by Martha Turner, is releasing the book through the Marengo Historical Society. If you call Kirk Brooker at 334-289-9644,(If he's not here, just ask for a # to reach him) He should be able to tell you how to get a copy.

More info: The book is called "The People's City: The Glory and the Grief of an Alabama Town 1850-1874". The book costs $34.95. It can be purchased at the Canebrake Craft Corner (Next to Bluff Hall). You can call them at 289-9644. or write them at P.O. Box 159 Demopolis, AL 36732.

They also have reprints of Winston's book "Days of Exile" available for $15.
