We recently (5 weeks ago) adopted a tiny little puppy from Lucille Carpenter out at the animal shelter. Poor little thing had been dumped from a car out on Hwy 80 and was flea ridden, malnourished and near death when taken to Lucille. She took him to the vet (paying out of her own pocket) and had him back on the road to health 9 days later when she called my daughter and I about him. "Glory", the rambunctious chihuaha/rat terrier, is now happy and healthy and is definitely one of the family. So, a great big thanks to Lucille and the other animal shelter employees for doing a great service to Demopolis and to the animals you try so hard to find homes for.
By the way, the shelter has a website that is periodically updated with pictures of current animals. Check it out if you're looking for a new best friend. Or, if you don't see what you're in mind for, call Lucille....she'll gladly keep her eyes out for you.
And if anyone has or knows of a poodle needing a good home, give me a holler...Glory would love a playmate.
