Moussaoui Trial
The Jury has reached a verdict in the penalty phase in the Moussaoui trial. It will be announced in a few minutes.

The verdict is "Death is a possible sentence in this case". Now it is up to the judge to make the ultimate decision if Moussaoui is sentenced to death for his role in 9/11 of spend the rest of his life in prison.

I think this is one case where life without should be the sentence. He wants death so he can be a martyr and it will probably just inflame the radicals if he dies. Let the cons take care of him!

He would have to be placed where other prisioners couldn't reach him. He wouldn't last long in general lockup. Maybe having to face life in a small cell would be a harsher punishment for him.

I know that if he dies, he will become a martyr, but I am sick & tired of these life w/o parole sentences. Our prisons are overcrowded as it is. Why can't we (U.S.) kill some prisoners like Texas does & send a message to all these little sheet heads?

How about sending them to Maricopa County, Arizona and Sheriff Joe Arpaio's tent city jail? Man...I wish that guy could do the same thing here!

ok, I think go ahead and excute him save our taxpayer dollars. Hell he could live 30 more years or more and we have to pay for it.

For some reason I remember reading somewhere that it actually costs more to execute someone (cost of trial and appeals) than it does to house someone in jail for life. I don't have any support to back that up. I just remember reading it when I wrote a paper about the death penalty in college.

In this case, I am not sure if there wil be any appeals, esp if he wants to die.
