I want to comment on an article in the paper that may be misleading. This article was about Unicel's coverage and how a downtown cell phone tower was needed, but the idea was rejected because the area residents were against it. Well, the area residents were against it, of course, but the ultimate deciding factor was this tower was to be placed on top of a water tower which is located on historic "Arch Street." The Alabama Historical Commission rejected this idea because there is to be no commercial gain from "Arch Street." This street has been long gone, but there have were other legal cases challenging this and lost (many, many years ago).
