Ok so a team that was defeated 35-7 is playing for the national championship. Can we please get a playoff so we can have a true number one in college football?

I have to agree.

4 points was the difference in USC being undefeated this year. They are the consensus # 1 and should be playing LSU for the title. Granted, Oklahoma does only have one loss, but that loss is the conference title game. It seems wrong that a team that couldn't win it's conference gets to play for the national title. LSU and USC are clearly the 2 best teams in the nation right now.

LSU vs. OK in the Sugar Bowl. New Orleans would rather have USC for the tourist dollar angle. A local team like LSU and OK will keep the tourist revenue down this year. Should be LSU VS USC.

This is the 2nd time in 3 years a team that didnt win its conference has gone to the Title Game. Nebraska in 2001 when they got whipped by Miami. Not to say that Ok is as bad as that Nebraska team but it should be a stipulation that if you dont win your conference you cant win the National Championship

Prior to Saturday, the BCS was giving LSU a snowball's chance in July of making the Suger Bowl. Then as soon as Oklahoma loses, they jump USC in the polls..Huh?? USC lost their game in overtime, and OK got their tails whipped. Now you're looking at a split national title if USC wins their game against Michigan. That's exactly what the BCS was supposed to prevent.

Actually LSU made it because of the two games that should have otherwise been meaningless. When ND lost to Syracuse and Hawaii lost to Boise St it brought USC's strength of schedule down below that of LSU. Therefore allowing LSU to jump USC in the BULL CRAP SYSTEM

I was in favor of LSU being in it over USC anyway, but USC should be in over OK no question.

I agree and what I think is going to happen is that LSU will whip OK and USC will beat Michigan and the final poll will make USC number 1 and they are going to have some mad cajuns on their hands!

Well the winner of the Sugar Bowl will win the coaches poll. The coaches are conctractually obligated to vote the winner of he BCS title game the national champs. The AP on the other hand is not ,so therefore if USC wins then there will be a split national championship which the BCS was supposed to do away with

I think that they need to go to a Sweet 16 type of playoff.Use the Top 25 to rank the teams all season and at the end of regular season play take the top 16 teams,bracket them off and let the best team win.
