Finally, after more than a year of E-911 problems and screw-ups, Eleanor Park was terminiated by the E-911 Board. The vote passed 4-1, with 2 members abstaining from the vote. Said Kevin McKinney, board chairman,"There were situations with employees that required discipline and discipline was not done. It led to employees complaining on each other. It led to employees complaining to the board." Park on several reported occasions had stated to the board that she needed a supervisor to handle employees, that she could not discipline. Now, after more than a year of problems, the board decide to cut off the top and work their way to the bottom. No one has been appointed the newly vacated position as of yet.

The Demopolis Tigers win yet another rout over the Greensboro Raiders on Friday. Play had to be suspended in the 3rd quarter with time remaining, but you didn't hear any Raider fans complaining. The highlight of the contest was 2 kickoff returns for TD's, and another great defensive performance that only allowed 14 points despite 4 Tiger fumbles. Final score DHS-48 Greensboro- 14. Tigers next opponent is Choctow County in Butler. The DA Generals move to 0-4 with another loss.

The Demopolis Times has been building anticipation over their "new look" which debuted in Sunday's edition. After reading through it, all I could see different is the banner at the top. The paper is claiming to focus more on the community in future issues, and has a new section for folks in the community to write in and express there opinions. It will be nice to see our paper improve. If you want to express you opinions and views in the community, we urge you to use our forums. Especially when the paper doesn't print your opinion.
