Did anyone else notice the front page news about Chris getting on the ballot? The headline read, "Petrey gets on ballot via petitions". Then, one small paragraph about him being on the ballot in the November election. Then the rest of the entire article was a response from Stuart Eatmon about how he feels about the whole situation. I thought it was lame of Goodloe to take what is news (anyone getting on a ballot by petition is interesting) and turn it into a platform for Stuart Eatmon to whine and moan about it being Bill Mason and Greg Griggers having Chris run because they were mad at him for putting up signs for Richard Bates. Goodloe also stated that Mariah Ford had called the Democrat and declared, "its wrong to treat Stuart like that. Whats Linden coming to?" Well, lady, for one thing Linden didn't have anything to do with it, but we will be glad to take the blame along with the bad press from our local newspaper.
Eatmon also said that Bill "cussed him out and called him a low life when he caught him putting out signs at Westside elementary". I believe Stuart is most likely exaggerating what happened there but I can't say because I didn't hear the conversation. It would certainly be out of character for Bill to do that.
I guess Bill and Gregg went to everyone of those 359 people who signed the petition and forced them into signing. And thats another thing. Unless it is a matter of law that you run those signatures in the paper, why would you publish each page of signatures in the paper? If I sign a petition I know it will probably become a matter of public record but I wouldn't want my signature published in the newspaper for anyone with 75 cents to see. It sure seems as though Goodloe is overly sympathetic to Eatmons whining. Maybe he will be Eatmons campaign manager for the general election.
