addressing the issue of Drug paraphernalia, possession or sale of?
My reason for asking is that I have the horrible habit of smoking (cigarettes ya'll, and not the left handed kind! lol), and noticed a new tobacco shop. In this shop were bongs (regular and party bongs or hashish bongs), pipes (those used for crack and pot) and a few other "odds and ends" pertaining to illegal use of drugs......yes folks, Demopolis has a "head shop"!! Needless to say I will not go back to this establishment.
I do know in Tennessee it is unlawful to possess or sell these little "trinkets" and wondered if Alabama had a similar law

I could just have dreamed this, but I think I heard someplace that it's illegal to OWN this stuff, but not to sell it. Maybe I was high when I thought I heard it.....

It depends on usage. These stores can sell these items for Tobacco purposes only. That's the loophole. There are actually establishments in tuscaloosa where you can go and sit and smoke a huge bong of flavored tobaccos with your friends -- it's an Indian thing I believe.
If you are caught in possession of a pipe or paraphenalia with drug residue, then that is a crime. However, if you are caught with a brand new pipe you just bought from the store, with no drugs on you -- then it is perfectly fine.
I NEVER thought Demopolis would have a headshop...
Are you talking about the one that is in front of Food World? (Right across hwy 80?)
Do they have import cigarettes or specialty cigarettes? like djarum's or the camel's in a tin... etc? I usually go to the Tobacco Leaf, but they have no variety, so I was just wondering if this store did.

Really? There is a place in downtown Memphis called Wizard's that advertises ALL the time on the radio and has been since I moved up this way almost 4 years ago. They even advertise the products that help ya "clean up" for testing purposes........not that I know a whole lot about this or anything or ever been in the shop.

Wow.. I didn't realize Marengo County had so many drug arrets here compared to our surrounding counties --- but yeah, I know this is ten years ago, but it's just a reference.
