Anybody a little... *nervous* about this north korea / "we're going to do a test launch any minute/day now" and our possibility of trying to shoot down and intercept this missle ???

People seem to be taking it lightly.

I don't take it lightly.....it scares the heck outta me. I'm having a hard time understanding why we went into Iraq because we believed they had weapons of mass destruction and we're playing a waiting game with a nation that's waving a nuclear missile in our noses, almost saying, "yeah, we've got it and we're not afraid to use it". Makes me more than a little nervous, that's for sure!!

Yeah, I'm nervous about it. But we can't just invade North Korea like we did Iraq because China would never stand for it. I'm also very nervous about Iran. I read a headline the other day (can't remember where) that said: "Axis of Evil: Was Bush Right?" The "Axis of Evil, " according to POTUS, is, of course Iraq, Iran, and North Korea.

When I was a kid, I used to have nightmares about nuclear war. With the collapse of the Soviet Union and the emergence of a more democratic Russia, however, I stopped worrying about it. Now it seems that we have even more to worry about.

It does seem a little hypocritical doesn't it?

I just don't understand the logic of ... "i think they have a weapon... bomb them, take out their leader" ... vs ... "i know they have a weapon... we've seen it & have pictures! but no.... let's just wait and see what happens"

They have issued warnings to US accusing us of "illegal intrusions" of their air space.

The Chinese gov't are experts in double talk. When I was in China the first time, I kept reading Chinese newspapers that said "SARS Contained" and "SARS No Risk Any Longer." I got home from China and found that SARS was indeed still a risk, and our family went under a 10 day quarantine. SARS and North Korea are different issues, of course, but the handling of these issues by the Chinese gov't and the gov't controlled Chinese press are the same.

Having been to China twice in the past 3 years, I have seen the massive industrialization. They are very powerful. They are second only to us as a world superpower. We must maintain positive relations with them just as we needed positive relations with the USSR 25 years ago. The last thing we need is another "cold war."

When I walked into work after hearing the monster was going to the launch pad I was shaking.

Then, no one seemed to know what I was talking about.

I decided to pray about it and let it go.

I reckon me and mine are ready enough.
