On Friday night, a group of friends and I went to play Bingo at Greenetrack. It was lots of fun! (I know some people have moral issues about it, but that's their decision)

We were truly suprised by how many people were there. On the bottom floor, there were slot machines - Bingo was on the upper floor. It wasn't your typical Bingo, but it was computerized and everyone has a touch screen flat panel monitor in front of them and the computer pretty much does everything for you. This type of Bingo was called "Blazing Quarters" because each card cost 25 cents. The computer keeps up with what number the announcer calls and marks your card (while you continually tap a green button beside the monitor), but you do still have to shout "Bingo!".

I think they have various types of Bingo at Greenetrack, but this was fun! Out of our group of 4, 3 of us won a round with one of us winning twice. The payout varies on how many other people are playing.

But, whatever you do...don't go to the Cotton Patch before Bingo. We were at that table for 2 hours! Misery! The beer was room temp and the tea glasses were ALWAYS empty! LOL!

Thanx for the tip:)

I have to say, I've never been a fan of gambling of any sort here in Alabama. BUT, if we're going to have some like Greenetrack taking in that much traffic and cash some 30 minutes away, we might as well give into the inevitable.

I thought that they took the slot machines and all the video gamming machines out. I thought I heard something about the Sheriff shut down all the Arcades there and said that the Greene Track was going to be BINGO only.

The slots were "converted" to bingo machines, but are basically the same thing.

What are some of the prizes you could win?

No sure about the "slots." But, on the Bingo we were playing, on each round you could win between $25-$100, just depending on how many other people were playing. If someone else got "Bingo" at the same time, you had to split the money.

Once you won, you got credit on your VIP card and could cash out at any point.

Sounds fun.
