Re: Be Careful with Fireworks
Linden lifted the ban becouse of the rain last weekend. All that rain last weekend only lasted for a couple of days. The Alabama Forestry Comm. has been running on fires every day since Tuesday. I don't know why they will not put us on a burn alert or ban all burning.
I have been out west every summer fighting wildfires for the last five years, this drought that we are seeing now resembles the summer weather out west. It is hot and dangerously low relative humidity levels here. We normaly do not have RH levels getting down to 22 or less in lower Alabama like we have seen for the past couple of days. When the RH gets below 30 the fire activity is very high, and according to the wind can be very dangerous to suppress, and can burn through yards, spot a quarter of a mile away, and is very dangerous for people who live in rural areas or out in country.
