I was just wondering if any one out there knows about the wic program. If so, do you know how to stop recieving it? Do you just stop going to pick it up or do you call them and tell them i would like to stop recieving it. If any one could help me i would be very thankfull.

you can do either one but you could keep getting it until you have to be re-evalutated

Call the office where you pick up your WIC. Tell them you no longer need it (unless you are planning to cut someone else's WIC benefits off without their knowledge). Don't assume just because you stop picking it up they will get the message.

Let me just say, as someone who worked in a rural pediatrician's office for 4 years and saw MUCH abuse of the system, KUDOS TO YOU Triple T for knowing when to come off WIC. You are a perfect example of someone using it for what it is there for.

I have to agree with JJ, I see it everyday. Some people that are on it make more money than I do and the ones that can't rub two pennies together can't get it. It makes me sick cause it's only hurting the children. Greed brings out the worst in people.

Thanks for all the help you guys. I agree with tidechick. I thought I needed it but after I started receiving it I did some figuring and I decided I could do without it. Glad I have people to talk to. Thanks Everyone.

I agree with Alyssa'sMommy. I would just wait until the re-evaluation. You may feel that you can do without it now but there may come a time when things may change. In my experience, the people whom I have known that were receiving WIC, needed it. A case of formula is very expensive and there aren't enough cans for an entire month. That on top of daycare, pampers, groceries, etc., can be enough to make things hard especially if you are a single parent. It is there to help those who need it and I am sure you pay taxes like the rest of us.
