rapist in Linden
Just in case everybody has not heard: There is a convicted (1st degree rape) rapist from Pickens County living at 209 Prowell St, Linden AL. He moved in last week. signs went up all over the neighborhood about 2 days ago. He's right across the street from me. Hope he won't be here long, but felt everyone has a right to know...

i heard his "victim" was 16 so it may be a case of statutory rape, but it was actually consentual. i also heard he is married with kids. so IF this is the case, yes he is a registered sex offender but it doesn't sound quite as bad as a guy raping a 5 year old girl. my friend's mom also lives in this neighborhood and she's not too worried about it. but it never hurts to be cautious.

i'm not saying it wasn't rape, my point was IN MY OPINION there is a difference in two people having consentual sex although a minor and a grown man forcing himself on a little child. i would much rather live by someone who had consentual sex with a 16 year old than by a pedophile. that's all i have to say on the subject.

According to the flier, he's 40 years old. He's got no business with a 16-year-old. Even if she lied about her age, he could tell she was young. I'm 41 and I know just by looking when someone is too young to mess with...I mean really!

i absolutely agree he had no business with a 16 year old, i was just trying to point out that he doesn't seem to be a major threat to a small child. however, i would still be cautious. i am not defending him, just pointing out what i have heard.

i certainly understand why you feel that way. when i was a teenager we had a teenage boy in our neighborhood that raped a 5 year old boy. it gave me the creeps to pass by him. to me you have to look at each situation differently. when i hear rapist i think of someone forcing themselves onto someone else. i know there is a law against having sex with a minor but is it really fair to arrest an 18 year old for having sex with his 16 year old girlfriend? to me, that part of the law is unfair. anyway, that's off the subject. i know you were wanting to get the word out about this and i thank you. good luck!
