Beside a lot of wind, a few downed limbs, and some much needed rain, Demopolis is still intact after Hurricane Isidore. I personally have enjoyed the cooler temperatures and constant breeze. Lets do this again soon
I personally want to say congradulations and THANK YOU to our first sponser. The Black Warrior Council Prairie District, which is the governing body of the Boy Scouts of America for our area, has generously donated to help our site pay expenses and improve for all visitors and members. Any children interested in joining the Boy Scouts should contact Patrick Ellis at (334) 289-2656. You can visit the Council's website here.
The website has progressed even beyond our expectations in such a short time. Check the Gallery for new satalite pics of our town posted by Bebo. Want to see a 360 degree view of downtown Demopolis? Look in the downloads section. I'm working to improve these and provide many unique pics of Demopolis. We will be testing a new feature here Friday, Sept 27th. We will be broadcasting the Demopolis Tigers Football game live from this site. You'll need the Real Player or Winamp to listen. Stay tuned to posts on how to take part in the test.
Lastly, I read an article in the Democrat about a guy named David DeShanzo, who had dedicated himself of educating and helping rural communities with the tragic and deadly virus AIDS. He will talk to anyone, and test you free of charge, wherever you wish, and do it 100% confidentially. The Test takes about 5 minutes, but can give you a lifetime of good. I encourage anyone who's been at risk and has not been tested to get tested. His toll free # is 1-800-758-7754. Everyone have a great weekend and God Bless.
