Raising minimum wage will raise costs at the grocery stores, Walmart, KFC, McDonalds, etc, which will cause them to raise prices or just not hire anyone else and work some poor sucker to death while their shorthanded. I was just entering the workforce the last time minimum wage went up, I can speak of the results first hand.
I know a lot of people that are living off of a little, but I can't think of anyone that I know that is living off of minimum wage. Raising minimum wage is going to lower the value of a dollar, and lower everyone else's income vs cost. $6.25 an hour is still not going to be enough to live off of.

Yeah, I realize that if its increased then everything else will increase as well. It is a shame but that's the way it goes.
I have to agree that raising the min wage does not help. The people who make min wage usually are high school and college kids working part time, and they only make that amount for a short period of time. if someone is a full time employee and only makes min wage they need to find another job.
