I just want to jump up and down like the little people in the Wizard of Oz.....ding dong Castro's dead! Now if only I could sing ding dong Saddam is dead.
If he is dead, there will be dancing in the streets among Cubans in the US. I wouldn't expect major changes in Cuba since Castro's brother is now in charge. On the other hand, the brother (Raoul, I think) is 75 years old and certainly won't be in power for decades. Maybe there is some hope that Cuba will one day be free from Communism.

Thanks for the interesting info on FC. Since I'm new on here, just curious about the barb you included with the post. Is it meant to be funny or sarcastic or what?
Sarcastic/funny....some of the more left-leaning members have been criticized in the past for posting "liberal propaganda." Sorry for not explaining!!
As far as Castro....I just want to be able to smoke these cigars I have in my desk LEGALLY.

I have often wondered two thing about Cuba and maybe someone here can clarify. First of all, since we are not friendly with Cuba how do we have a base there to detain terrorist detainees? Also, why don't we just conquer Cuba and help them reestablis a democracy? Thats what we are doing in Iraq. Do the Cuban people not deserve to have democracy too? And how long would it take to conquer them? Half a day?

Because we took that land from them and refused to give it back.

Because they really haven't been a threat since the missile crisis. Bigger fish to fry and all.

Just a question to through out. Let's say within the next few years, Castro is out and Cuba is well on its way to becoming a thriving democracy and the new vacation destination of the Carribean, does anyone think many of our Cuba exile brothers and sisters will go back to live in there homeland and help make it a great country to live in and visit. I would think with Castro out, they would want to go back and contribute to make it a wonderful country again. Just wondering if anyone else has an opinion on this topic.
