Last night in B'ham, the demopolis lady tigers basketball team proved that they deserved to be in the final 4. It was a great game and they play Saturday at 10 am for the state championship. I would like to encourage everybody to come and support them as this would be only our second state championship the school has seen. I don't understand why this isn't getting more attention than it is. If this was football or baseball it would be everywhere. I think these girls deserve some recognition! They have played awesome this year and hope to bring it home. GO TIGERS!

If they win it would be the third state chamionship the school has won. They won a Baseball one back in 86 I think I may be wrong???

You're probably right but still, that's not a lot of championships. And even if we had a bunch they still shouldn't be overlooked for their accomplisment.

I'm not disagreeing with you... I know I remember the support and sellouts for the Football team. I guess that just goes to show you that Football and baseball will always be the most popular sports.

You're right. So the point of this is to make people realize that they should get recognition and maybe more will come out and support them. After all, it's not everyday our school goes to the state championships.

Alot more people would come ,but baseball and softball just started a few weeks ago. The baseball and softball teams will be playing games all weekend long.

I've gotten word that the softball games might get cancelled and maybe baseball as well. Nothing for sure though.

Rumor has been floating around that the softball wil be cancelled this weekend. I have not heard oficially form Coach Harris. I was at the game tongiht but wasn't able to get a word with Coach Harris. Good Luck Lady Tigers! Go get em Jannet #3!! If they get it Jannet will be bling blingin big time with the softball ring! I hope someone with the power at DHS reschedules the games this weekend so everyone can have a chance to go to the game. Just think, how often does a school play for a state championship? If DHS wins that will be state championships in girls sports two years in a row. Not bad.

I talked to a softball player and she said playing Saturday was still up in the air. Possibly playing Saturday afternoon, early Sat. evening, this would give a chance for the girls to go support fellow player Jannet Woods aka Gump. Jannet might need to look into hiring someone to hold her hand up after Saturday, 2 state champ rings will be heavy to have on one hand.

Demopolis should be proud of its female athletes for what they have been able to accomplish.
