I think that it would be great if someone started a website for DHS. Not only cover sporting events but other things that are going on in school. Maybe that would be something one of the clubs or student council could do.
I've offered to help put up a site for them, but I never get a response. We can do whatever needs to be done as far as posting and hosting content. We just need individuals committed to keeping info up to date. I'll gladly set up a site with all school information and calendars if I know there are folks that will keep it up to date.

Does DHS have computer classes. If they do, can they form a Computer Club at school like the Science Club my high school had. The Computer Club's project could be to keep the site up-to-date. Network IT or some other business could sponsor it. I would also like to see a radio club in school. We have to get more interest in amateur (Ham) radio. Computers and the internet is great but there are and will be times when we can't communicate with them.
Dave is right. We did, a while back, start to build a site for the school, but we soon realized that there just wasn't enough time for just the Dlive admins to keep up with all that was needed. In order for that site to be a good one, we would need the support of several of you guys (or girls, sorry). Is there anyone here that would be willing to dedicate some time to a site like that for updating of information, ideas, and inputing of content? LET US KNOW!! :)
We can sponsor a site. We can build it, set it upp, and give it a domain if wanted (we own demopolistigers.com). The thing is, in order to justify all that work we need to know there are folks committed to keeping it an up to date site. I've emailed the computer dept at DHS without response.
I can't even get the school to email calendars or schedules, I post things when I find them just like the others here. All Westal.net is going to do is offer webspace.
The problem isn't putting it up, it's cooperation from the schools.
www.dcstigers.cjb.net started off good but hasn't been updated since last year. Even the lunch menus stopped the first of 12-03.
Who was responsible for that site? It appears to be set up will but lacks information.
I've emailed those "webmasters" as well without response, and I was just trying to get some sports schedules.
A school website should look professional and stay up to date. We'll do it as long as we have someone or a group that will keep us up-to-date. We've wanted to give back like this since we started this site, but have met either resistance or lack of interest at every turn. If Demopolis City Schools wants a real presence on the internet, we are the ones than can deliver it.
