UK thwarts bombing plot

At least someone's intelligence is good! Warning level has been raised to orange for all international inbound flights and intranational flights for the U.S. Flights from the U.K. have been placed on level red (highest).

The U.K. has completely banned all carryon luggage, and the U.S. has banned all liquids (except medication and baby formula) from carryon luggage. All liquids in checked baggage must be checked prior to loading.

In other words...if you are flying soon, plan to get to the airport even earlier and bring less stuff.

British officials arrested 21 people in connection with the plot, which they described as "intended to be mass murder on an unimaginable scale."

No word on whether there is a connection to al Quaeda, some other terrorist group, or whether these were copycats.

Preliminary investigation has not identified any credible or imminent threat posed by El-Dessouki The FBI and ICE investigation is ongoing, as we remain interested in locating and interviewing the other eight Egyptian students who failed to report for their academic program at Montana State University.

Scotland Yard seems to think the plot was a big one -- "Mass Murder on an Unimaginable Scale."

Considering WTC and the London Underground, I don't know about "unimaginable," but it will be interesting to see exactly how large the plot was.

Of course, there are conspiracy theorists on the left saying that this is a plot by GWB and Blair to take attention away from the Dems win in Connecticut (nutjobs) and there are conspiracy theorists on the right saying that all of the Muslims in Great Britain are in on the plot (nutjobs). Everybody else is just going along with there day...or stuck at Heathrow.
